DURHAM WEST LIGHTNING JR 2020-2021

Georgia looks forward to:

  • A competitive, passionate and inclusive team that always makes players welcome and comfortable in the group; the team is her second family
  • A successful season with a group of talented players who always make sure the team works together on and off the ice
  • New skills and leadership tactics she can apply to her mental game, on-ice play and off-ice behaviour
  • The opportunity to play for a great organization, excellent coaches, and incredible teammates
  • Developing her hockey, team and leadership skills over the season so next year she can help welcome other new Junior players to the team, in the same manner she was welcomed this season

GOALS & PLANS

Georgia plans to graduate from Colgate University while playing D1 NCAA hockey. She then wants to attend law school and, after graduation, start building her career as a Federal prosecutor. She also has aspirations of playing for Team Canada and staying with professional women’s hockey in the PWPHA or NWHL.

Georgia wants to make a difference in the hockey community. During her hockey journey, she hopes to make lifelong friends and give back to the less fortunate. She wants to share her story with others so other young kids know there is no such thing as “I can’t.” It’s important to her that girls understand the importance of education, and to be a high-performance athlete, you have to earn your success and realize “nothing will be given to you.”
