It has obviously been a difficult year for everyone due to COVID-19. The players on the Durham West Junior Lightning decided they wanted to make a positive difference in their hockey team’s community. The players felt it important to focus on the particularly hard-hit long-term care facilities we have all heard about. The team chose the Orchard Villa located in Pickering ON. This facility was adopted by the team as it was in the news a few months ago when the military was deployed here to address the difficulties posed by COVID-19 outbreaks.
